PeakPlan uses a two-stage process. First, you enter your trip location, dates, and what you want to do — we then show you 4–8 segment options with 3 choices each (campsites, trailheads, viewpoints, etc.). After you pick your favorites, we build a full day-by-day itinerary with drive times, safety notes, gear lists, estimated budgets, and local tips — all tailored to your skill level and group type.
PeakPlan covers six major activity types: camping (tent, RV, backcountry), hiking (day hikes, overnighters, summit routes), fishing (fly and spin fishing near rivers, lakes, and reservoirs), rockhounding (gem and mineral spots), hot springs, and scenic drives. You can mix and match — plan a trip that combines a day hike, an evening soak in a hot spring, and a scenic mountain drive.
Yes. Once your adventure plan is generated, you can save it to your device. Your itinerary, drive directions, campsite details, and key notes are available offline — no cell signal needed in the backcountry. PeakPlan also generates offline-ready driving directions so you can navigate without service.
Every adventure plan includes a day-by-day itinerary with drive times between locations, campsite or lodging details, trail descriptions, safety notes, regulations, local fishing info, a gear checklist, and estimated budget. You also get a shareable link you can send to your group so everyone sees the same plan.

PeakPlan includes permit and reservation information in your adventure plan — which trails or campsites require advance permits, where to book, and key regulations. You'll still need to make the reservations yourself, but we'll tell you exactly what's required and where to go.
PeakPlan plans trips for all skill levels: Beginner (well-maintained trails, easy access), Intermediate (moderate elevation, some elevation gain), and Advanced (technical terrain, multi-day routes, high elevation). Just set your skill level when building a plan — PeakPlan tailors routes, distances, and safety notes accordingly.
Yes. PeakPlan includes current conditions for your planned routes and highlights any seasonal closures, fire restrictions, or road conditions that may affect your trip. Your plan will note any weather-sensitive activities and suggest alternatives if conditions change.
